(written as soon as i got into cali. so last week) so the winter retreat was great. God definitely met me there, and that was wonderful. the theme was "Renewed." i was renewed. i'm talking with God like i used to. my prayers are a conversation, instead of a one way communication or cry for help. my prayer is that it would continue to grow like this, because i love where i'm heading right now. i met some new people this week too! surprise.......kevin....meeting new people...scandalous i know. i have a few friends from pasadena, so i mainly met more pasadena people, and improved on friendships with the friends i already had.
now i'm in cali at the grandparents place. i love it here. maybe..one day..i'll live here. i would be okay with that. but only if it was this house. i love it!! so maybe after dental school i'll think about it. i would probably have a job out here too. my dad's friend likes me and is a dentist out here...hmmmmm. so yesterday was awesome. parker and taylor came over, and we had french toast and watched planet earth on the 70" behemoth of a tv. then i took taylor down to play some zombie game on xbox, then we had $16 worth of In n Out (my cousin and I together weigh less than 250lbs combined. we're tiny). so we were full from breakfast, now full from lunch. then paige brought a friend up from cal baptist, and we all spent the day/evening/early night together. we went to trump golf course, and down to the beach. we looked at starfish and squishies and sea urchins!! it was awesome. then we drove to get dinner at "Eat at Joe's." the best food place on earth. girls don't like it because it's dirty, but the food makes up for it by far!!!!!!!! people can attest to its brilliance of taste and decor. truly an icon in the beach city of hermosa. haha i sound like a critic or something, but it's incredible. oh but joes was closed. sad day. so we went to el burrito jr (lbj's). that was gooood. so we all took it down to the beach, while blasting hip hop in my grandma's minivan. mexican food on the beach while watching the sunset...it was wonderful. i have pictures on facebook if you want to see them.
it's nice being here in california. i'm essentially alone. it's nice being able to think about things and not having people make you doubt yourself. i can't make decisions if i'm doubting..and by not making decisions....well that's just not good. i love my grandpa. he never makes me doubt myself. in fact, quite the contrary. he makes me feel confident in my decisions and affirms me. that is encouraging. knowing that someone has faith in you and your decisions allows you to make more, and larger decisions. that's the main reason i talk with him too.
I love you!
